Boy escapes kidnap bid

A seven-year-old boy escaped an alleged attempt to kidnap him by unidentified persons at Somidi area in Kazipet on Wednesday. It was said that the boy, Ramvarun Teja, studying second class at Somidi Government Primary School, came out of the school in the afternoon to search for a pencil, he lost outside the school.

At that time, two strangers riding on a bike called him to come to them. When the boy ignored them, the duo grabbed the boy when he was going into the school and forced him to sit on the bike and took him away.

An elderly woman, who watched this incident, confronted the bike riders questioning where they were taking the kid, but they sped away. The boy, however, jumped from the bike when it was slowed down at a speed breaker and ran towards that elderly woman. Following this, the bike riders fled the spot.

Meanwhile, the students, who noticed the incident, informed the school headmaster B Raju, who rushed out looking for the boy. After finding the kid with the elderly woman, he took him to the school and informed the police and boys’ mother Suhasini. Kazipet police launched an investigation into the incident.
