Sahrudaya Telugu Drama Competitions leaves art lovers enthralled
The four-day 19th Telugu Drama Competitions organised by the city-based Sahrudaya Literary and Cultural Organisation have left the art lovers enthralled. Thought provoking and heart touching dramas that looked deep inside the human tendencies and as well as social evils impacting the society as a whole. All the dramas staged during the four days at Nerella Venu Madhav Auditorium at Public Gardens
Hanamkonda: The four-day 19th Telugu Drama Competitions organised by the city-based Sahrudaya Literary and Cultural Organisation have left the art lovers enthralled. Thought provoking and heart touching dramas that looked deep inside the human tendencies and as well as social evils impacting the society as a whole. All the dramas staged during the four days at Nerella Venu Madhav Auditorium at Public Gardens in Hanamkonda presented realistic plots pertaining to the society.
The cast members, writers and the directors of the dramas have succeeded in driving home the point they intended to tell the audience with their performance. A drama ‘Andina Akasam’ by DJ Creations of Hyderabad has been adjudged the best drama, the organisers informed here on Wednesday. The drama shed light on the evil effects of extra marital affairs and exploitation of women by men.
A drama ‘Gurtu Teliyani Shavam’ by Janashreni of Vijayawada has been considered the second best drama. Krisheshwara Rao is selected as the best actor, B Jyothi Raj as best actress, Goparaju Ramana as best character artist, E Hari Babu as best villain, Y Bhasker Rao as best writer, D George as the best director and Sambasiva Rao is selected as the best music director.
D George also won award for best stage backdrop while SM Basha and Lahari given jury awards and an art lover K Prakash of Bank Colony in Hanamkonda won best audience award, informed the organisation president MV Ranga Rao, general secretary NVN Chary and cultural secretary Kala Rajeshwar Rao.
MLA D Vinay Bhasker, famous mimicry artist Nerella Venu Madhav, song writer and poet Mounasri Mallik and Kapil Group president U Krishna Mohan attended the valedictory of the drama competitions and distributed awards to the artistes. On the occasion, noted drama writer Ankam Lingamurthy of Warangal presented with Vedantam Naraharacharyulu-Kantamma Memorial Sahrudaya Rangastala Puraskaram, which carries a cash award of Rs 10,000, a citation and memento.
The jury K Mohan Rao, K Krishna Rao and B Purushotham, Sahrudaya office bearers N Bhaskar Rao, M Manohar Rao, Radhakrishna, artist Sridhar Swamy, art lovers Vedantam Krishnamacharya, V Sridevi, V Geetanjali, V Jayasri and others took part in the awards presentation ceremony.
