Collector D Divya speaking at a review meeting in Adilabad on Tuesday

Adilabad: All those oustees, who lost their land under State government developmental programmes, will get compensation as per the relevant act, District Collector D Divya said. Conducting a review meeting with the irrigation, forest and revenue officials on Tuesday, she told them to speed up the survey of lands to be acquired for the developmental programmes.

“The displaced, who lost their land for the construction of barrages, canals etc., should get their compensation as per the land acquisition act without any delay,” she told the officials to take necessary actions. If anyone loses their entire land, the onus is on the government to provide land in lieu of what the displaced is deprived of, Divya said, directing the officials to take necessary action to ensure the livelihood of the oustees.

Focusing on progress of Chanaka-Korata barrage, she told the officials to finalise the land acquisition for the construction of canals. This apart, the officials were also told to complete the survey of land acquisition taken up for the construction of six tanks before the end of March. The officials were also told to enquire about the land distributed under forest act.

Joint Collector K Krishna Reddy, RDOs Suryanarayana and Jagadeeshwar Reddy, DFO Prabhakar and Irrigation EE Sushil were among others present.
