A platter of ethnic dishes made of ippa puvvu (mahua), ambali, burelu, honey and a host of other items are what enticed District Collector D Divya and Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier as they stumbled upon the delicacies when they went to take part in the luncheon programme organised by the RAI Centre at Luxettipet village under Utnoor mandal on Friday.

Adilabad: A platter of ethnic dishes made of ippa puvvu (mahua), ambali, burelu, honey and a host of other items are what enticed District Collector D Divya and Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier as they stumbled upon the delicacies when they went to take part in the luncheon programme organised by the RAI Centre at Luxettipet village under Utnoor mandal on Friday.

Both the Collector and the SP, who mingled with Adivasis and had lunch with them said the food practices of Tribals were homogenous.

The Adivasis derived protein and micronutrients from rich forest foods like mahua, herbs, honey and green vegetables, they said.

ITDA Project Officer S Krishna Aditya, Utnoor DSP N Venkatesh, Praja Mitra Rythu Sahakara Samakya Project Officer K Vithal Rao and representatives of RAI were among others present.
