The two-day Telangana Jagruthi International Youth Leadership Conference 2019 (TJIYLC) themed Mahatma Gandhi’s path to sustainability and innovation concluded successfully in Hyderabad. This conference was organised by Telangana Jagruti and held at Hyderabad International Conference Centre near HITEC City.

The two-day event witnessed participation of around 550 delegates across the world, involving youth from all sectors of development, and empowerment was the major point of discussion in the conference. People from across India and various countries addressed the conference.

The event provided a global platform to youth especially to women to share their ideas, thoughts, building partnerships among youth worldwide to transform societies for better tomorrow and to achieve goals. Women also participated in large numbers in the leadership conference. Women delegates associated to the UK, the USA, China and many other countries elaborated on women power.

On second day of the conference, young minds from India Pullela Gopichand, Badminton Champion and Malavath Purna, world’s youngest girl mountaineer, who reached the Mount Everest also spoke at this platform. Sharing their experiences, the champions advised youngsters that anything can be achieved with hard work and determination, but success also needs dedication. A special session was conducted on women leadership.

Wrestler Babita Phogat shares, “I am happy that Kalvakuntla Kavithaji invited me to attend this women empowerment programme. I want to advice Indian women that if they want to do good in any field ‘please trust yourself’ and the family support is very important. I want everyone to work hard. I had trained at least 100 times harder than what was shown in that one song sequence in movie on my life, ‘Dangal’.”

Anni from Finland is very happy that she got the opportunity to attend the conference, she says, “I came to know about the event through my friend and my parents booked hotel for me to stay.”

19-year-old Anni says, “I met many women at the conference today and I got inspired by many of them. Women empowerment is crucial for growth and development.”

Young lady, Intan Qomariah, who works for ‘Indonesian Youth for SDGs’ an NGO, says, “It’s a good platform where we are sharing our ideas with other women and we can apply their ideas after going back to our country. It changed our mind set into thinking that we can do more in life.”

Fakhiya Tavakalovd from Tajikistan, who came to know through a friend about TJIYLC, relates, “I am student and I like to talk about women empowerment and development, that’s the reason I came today, and I think this a great platform where we got the opportunity to share our ideas.”

22-year-old, Dilnula Abdupaffalova from Uzbekistan, says, “This is a global-level conference, which motivates people. We realised how important women are in a society and how they are building a new world for themselves. Women can express their rights and get the equal opportunity in this world.”

Founder president of Telangana Jagruti Kalvakuntla Kavitha shared with The Hans India about TJIYLC and how it changes the concept of youth. “When we talk about youth, they usually say young men. But I say that 50 per cent of the youth are women. They are tomorrow’s mothers, and society makers.

So, today’s young women must be discussed, and they must be aware of the opportunities, so that tomorrow she can run a great business or a healthy family or become a leader. But at the young age itself they should be aware of these things. That is why we took women leadership programme today.”

Expressing happiness on the success of the TJIYLC, Kalvakuntla Kavitha says, “It’s happy to see that Telangana Jagruthi reaches globally and is able to gather the delegates from various parts of the world.”

She emphasises that empowerment of youth and development of the nation is worldwide problem. A global platform is organised to discuss and overcome such problems, she adds.
