The Shell Eco-Marathon 2016 will see participation from ten Indian institutions. The event will be held in Manila, Philippines from 3-6 March, 2016. Ten teams from India’s leading technological institutes will be participating in the challenge alongside students from 17 other countries across Asia. 

Hyderabad: The Shell Eco-Marathon 2016 will see participation from ten Indian institutions. The event will be held in Manila, Philippines from 3-6 March, 2016. Ten teams from India’s leading technological institutes will be participating in the challenge alongside students from 17 other countries across Asia.

The qualifying colleges from India include Delhi Technological University, New Delhi; Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi; Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani; Pandit Deen Dayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar; Government Engineering College Barton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram; Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi; Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, Bengaluru; SRM University Chennai; RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru and VIT University, Vellore.

Shell Eco-marathon Asia is a unique competition that challenges young students to design, build and drive the most energy efficient car, in a real-world urban environment. Student teams that take to the track, are awarded on the basis of who goes further on the least amount of fuel.
