Diwali, the festival of lights, the festival of bursting crackers, accruing precious metals, the grace of the goddess of wealth and the festival of paving the way to light from the shadows of darkness and ignorance  dawned on the premises of Sister Nivedita School with our fanfare and glory.

Hyderabad: Diwali, the festival of lights, the festival of bursting crackers, accruing precious metals, the grace of the goddess of wealth and the festival of paving the way to light from the shadows of darkness and ignorance dawned on the premises of Sister Nivedita School with our fanfare and glory.

The invocation to the Goddess was adorned with spirituality the customs and traditions associated with the festival and inadvertently followed by the people were first narrated by three students and then enacted as a dance drama by the students.

Right from the oil bath, the wearing of new clothes, the traditional practices of pooja are conducted in every house, seemed like a typical scene from a household.

The girls in their resplendent cloths swirling and dancing to the rhythmic beats were enthralling. The scene of bursting crackers as enacted by the boys was a replica of an illuminated Diwali night.

Last but not the least was a volley of warnings and ‘no no’s’ that every child and adult needs to know to have a safe and Happy Diwali.

The effervescent message by the Principal of the school, Jayanthi Venkataraman brought out the sparkle in every smile, setting the apt mood for Diwali.
