Sri Lanka's recent tour to Pakistan had raised quite a few eyebrows when it was first announced. With concerns expressed over the security to the visiting players in Pakistan, the tour was preceded by a mixed bag of opinions. In fact, citing security reasons, several Sri Lankan players had even opted out of the tour.

However, the country's security measures, in ensuring smooth conduct of the series, have been fetching accolades from the Sri Lankan Cricket Board. Applauding the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for playing the perfect hosts and urging other countries to play cricket in Pakistan, Sri Lanka's opening batsman Danushka Gunathilaka took to Twitter to share his experience.

"End of a very special tour. Kudos to the PCB for bringing back international cricket to their fans. Great hospitality. Excellent security measures. Hope every other country will visit here soon. Pakistan is safe to play cricket and their fans deserve it," the left-handed batsman tweeted on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka toured Pakistan to participate in a 3-match ODI and T20I series. While the ODI series was bagged 2-0 by the hosts, the Islanders made a strong comeback in the 20-over format to clinch the series 3-0.
