Hyderabad: State BJP president K Laxman on Friday expressed shock over six students ending their lives after the declaration of Intermediate Public Examination-2019 (IPE-2019) results.

Making a fervent appeal to the students on behalf of the BJP, he urged the students not to lose their heart over failing in the examination and resort to the extreme steps.

He said, "Students of such a young age are the foundation stones for the future of the country. They should not lose their self-confidence for failing in the examination and they should move forward into the future with courage instead of leaving sadness to their parents."

He said that students should consider the opportunities available like recounting and re-evaluation of their answer papers rather than taking extreme steps in haste.

Laxman said that there are several shortcomings cropping up in the Intermediated education in the State. There were also reports of mistakes crept in the IPE-2019 results. These issues were raised on several occasions in the State Assembly.

However, the State government had failed to take a serious view of the anomalies taking place in Intermediate Education in the State.

Though there were warnings sounded in advance about the problems in the intermediate board, Laxman said that both the education department and the State government had miserably failed in addressing the same.
