Party national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao says the TRS government is acting like a 21st century Nizam

Hyderabad: BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao on Monday said the party activists would stage protests in front of the District Collectorates across the State in protest against the undemocratic and autocratic functioning the State government.

Addressing the media after the arrest of the party State president K Laxman, who started an indefinite fast here on Monday, he warned the State government that it cannot suppress the BJP by resorting to arrests of its leaders and activists.

He said the party would continue its fight until the State government conceded its demand for action against those responsible for Intermediate results fiasco.

"If necessary, the party will intensify the agitation by joining hands with other social organisations," he said.

Terming the arrests as nothing but trampling upon the rights of the people to stage protests, he accused the TRS government of trying to cover up its mistakes though its actions hit hard 9.5 lakh students.

Muralidhar Rao said the party would not continue its agitation and Laxman would continue his indefinite.

Besides, the entire national party is standing solidly behind the just cause for which the State unit has taken the cudgels demanding justice for students.

The BJP leader said conceding the just demands would help the TRS and its government win the hearts of the people.

Otherwise, the party would intensify the agitation to take it to its logical end and would not rest until justice is rendered.

Questioning the claims by three-member committee appointed by the State government that errors were found in the process but the same did not vitiate the results, Muralidhar Rao, asked, "When the process has been vitiated and errors crept in, will it not affect the outcome of the results."

Reiterating his party's stand that the report of the three-member commit is not acceptable, he said inquiry by an independent sitting High Court judge would unmasks those responsible for playing with the lives of 9.5 lakh students.

He also demanded a CBI inquiry into the issue to bring to book those responsible.

Another national general secretary Ram Madhav said the TRS- led government would be remembered for the suicides of over 24 students.

The KCRs government has been acting as the 21st century Nizam with his dictatorial, undemocratic and autocratic functioning.

He said party chief Amit Shaha had appreciated the just cause for which the State unit has been fighting for and the national party stands behind the agitation.
