Campaign for 2nd phase of MPTC, ZPTC polls concludes
The campaign for second phase of MPTC and ZPTC elections in Telangana concluded at 4 pm on Wednesday.
Hyderabad: The campaign for second phase of MPTC and ZPTC elections in Telangana concluded at 4 pm on Wednesday.
"All the political parties, TV Channels and other electronic media, are hereby, informed that under the Law, the election campaign in whatever form like public meetings or display or playing of campaign material in the electronic media like TV Channels, Radio etc., or propaganda of election matter by arranging musical concerts or theatrical performance or other entertainment is strictly prohibited during the period of 48 hours ending with the hour fixed for conclusion of the poll. Therefore, election campaign in whatever form like public meetings or through the electronic media should end at 4 pm on 08-05-2019 (Wednesday) in Mancherial, Komurambheem Asifabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts and at 5 pm in all other districts," Telangana State Election Commission (TSEC) Secretary M. Ashok Kumar said in an order today.
Ashok Kumar said that all political parties, campaign managers and managers in-charge of electronic media should take note of this and implement it strictly in order to comply with the provision of law.
All the visiting political functionaries/ party workers and campaign functionaries etc., have been directed to leave the areas notified for elections soon after the closure of campaign period.
