GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore on Saturday said that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation would strengthen its Legal Wing for effective implementation of court orders, monitoring the status of various cases and timely filing of counters in contempt cases.

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore on Saturday said that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation would strengthen its Legal Wing for effective implementation of court orders, monitoring the status of various cases and timely filing of counters in contempt cases.

Commissioner Dana Kishore, along with the A.C. Legal Adwait Kumar Singh, Zonal Commissioner Musaraff Ali and Chief Planner had a review meeting with the Zonal Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, City Planners, Asst City Planners and Section officers of all circles and Standing Counsel of GHMC.

He reviewed cases pertaining to contempt cases of Town Planning, Land Acquisition, Engineering and Establishment and their status. Analyze the nature of the case and prioritize and take action accordingly. Commissioner, instructed to act promptly on illegal constructions, encroachment of lakes and nalas.

Further, the Commissioner instructed the officials to review once in a week every Saturday and bring notice of the Commissioner and Additional Commissioner (Legal) shall review legal cases every week at Zonal Level on rotation basis and in turn the Commissioner will review once in a month of all cases at Head Office.

The Commissioner instructed the officials counter should be filed in all Contempt cases by July 15th.

To speed up the disposal of cases, Commissioner suggested having a separate legal section in each zonal office, at level of AMC/Superintendent, a clerk and data entry operator.

The Commissioner also suggested the Standing Counsel to have a liaison assistants and GHMC would pay Rs.11,000 to each. The liaison officers should attend three courts and apprise the officials as when orders passed and update posted cases. The court cases portal should be updated regularly.

Dana Kishore said that a 2-day training classes would be conducted by the retired judges to the GHMC officials on preparation of para-wise remarks, etc.,
