Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar on Wednesday held a meeting with zonal commissioners and deputy commissioners on implementation of Telanganaku Haritha Haram (TKHH) under GHMC limits.

The Commissioner directed the officials to discuss with the corporators to finalise ward-wise action plan. He suggested to involve 30,000 employees of all wings of GHMC in plantation drive. "Coordinate with the residential welfare associations. As per the directions of Government, 50 lakh saplings should be planted this year. One officer should be deputed as in-charge for each location to look after plantation, its fencing, watering and it's growth," he added.

Further, Lokesh Kumar said that avenue plantation should be taken up on either side of a total of 9,300 km of road length in GHMC. He also suggested that plantation be conducted inside compound walls of private properties by consulting with the owner in case road width is narrow. "Avenue Plantation should be appeared on the central meridians of the 709 km long main roads. HMRL is taking up plantation drive all along Metro Rail route and its Medians. Planting should be taken all along the compound walls of graveyards, open areas, open lay outs, nalas and Musi River.

UBD Addl Commissioner Krishna, Zonal Commissioners V Mamatha, N Ravi Kiran, B Srinivas Reddy, Upender Reddy and Ashok Samrat and many deputy commissioners took part in the meeting.
