Hyderabad: One dies in building collapse

Karkhana: 25-year-old Satyam computer building, Old Vasavi Nagar, Karkhana collapsed on Sunday night and a person was killed in the mishap. Karkhana police, SCB officials and GHMC Disaster Response Force Team rushed to the spot and launched a massive rescue operation.

The building collapsed as the owner of the building Durga Prasad was demolishing the building illegally without taking the permission of SCB officials. "We vacated the adjoining buildings and also cleared the area for free pedestrian movement. We are trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased person", said Avinash Babu, sub-inspector, Karkhana police station.
