Hyderabad: With the continuous downpour, water levels at Hussain Sagar lake in the city touched the danger mark. While the total capacity at Hussain Sagar is 513.80 ft, the current water levels at the lake reached 513.70 ft.

The GHMC and irrigation officials alerted the people residing at the low-lying areas near tank bund who are scared of the water level touching the danger mark. They were asked to take the necessary precautions.

The current outflow of the water is 600 cusecs and more water will be released to downstream if the rain continues to batter city, said irrigation department superintendent Bheem Prasad hoping that the water level would decrease if there are no rains.

Sagar will be overflowed if the water level increased by one foot, he said.
