Nalgonda: Mahatma Gandhi University Registrar Yadagiri inaugurated the inter-college volleyball tournament on campus grounds on Thursday. As many as 19 men's teams and 14 women's teams from across the erstwhile Nalgonda district are participating in the tournament.
Speaking on the inaugural session of the tournament, the Registrar urged the students to give equal importance to sports and studies for physical fitness and mental balance.
University men and women volleyball teams would be formed with outstanding players from different teams during the tournament and selected teams would participate in inter-university volleyball tournament, he added.
Academic Director Dr Alvala Ravi, Arts College Principal Anji Reddy, Sports Board Secretary Upender Reddy, NG College Physical Director Fransis, MGU Physical Directors Y Srinivas Reddy and R Murali and players attended the inaugural session.
