A man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly organising cricket betting here at Mangalhat. About Rs 24,000 cash and a mobile phone were seized from him.
Sunil Singh (23) is said to be organising online cricket betting and collecting money from punters for the past three months. He later distributed the money to those who placed their money in the betting.
Acting on a tip-off, the West zone task force police raided his residence and took him into custody. The accused was then handed over to Mangalhat police for further investigation.
