TRESA warns to hold dharnas in a phased manner demanding that the government address the issues raised by the association after the Lok Sabha elections scheduled on April 11

Hyderabad: Strongly opposing the State government's reported proposal to scrap the Revenue Department, the Telangana Revenue Employees Service Association (TRESA) on Monday demanded that the government bring in reforms in one of the key Revenue Department and strengthen the entire wing.

The Association warned that it will hold dharnas in a phased manner demanding that the government address the issues raised by the association after the end of Lok Sabha election scheduled on April 11 in Telangana.

The Association held an emergency meeting in Hyderabad and discussed the issues pending before the government regarding the Revenue Department including the proposal to wind up the department.

The TRESA President V Ravinder Reddy said that the revenue is the important wing in the functioning of the government mainly for the protection of the farmers' ownership on lands.

Due to lack of required staff and technical snags, the revenue department officials are struggling hard to complete the updation of the land records.

Demanding that the government lift the suspension on two revenue officials who allegedly failed to dispose of the land pending distribution of title deeds to a farmer, Reddy said that the land disputes will be addressed only after the completion of comprehensive land survey.
