Rachakonda: SHE Teams in the last one month booked 45 cases (19 FIRs, 20 petty cases and 6 counseling) against eve-teasers in the last one month and apprehended 46 respondent eve teasers, out of 27 majors and 19 minors.
The respondent eve-teasers have attended the counseling session conducted by Rachakonda SHE teams, at the Commissioner Camp office, Nagole, LB Nagar, along with their Family members and they were counseled by the professional counselors from the Bhumika Women's Collective (NGO). Children in conflict with law will also counseled by professional psychiatrist Dr Vasavi to bring change in their behavior.
Cases involved luring girls in the name of securing jobs or stalking and harassment in name of love
While some victims are approaching the cops themselves, the SHE Teams are reaching out to potential victims by conducting decoy operations. They apprehended 3 minor boys while passing lewd comments on college girls. They, along with parents, were counselled at Ibrahimpatnam police station.
In Kushaiguda, a SHE Team apprehended jfour minor boys while they were sitting and passing the lewd comments and making indecent gestures to college girls, at Dammaiguda X roads at Kushaiguda. They were counseled at Jawaharnagar PS in front of their parents.
Not only these, the SHE Teams are also preventing child marriages. They stopped three child marriages in the last one month.
Under the Leadership of Mahesh M Bhagwat, Commissioner of Police, they are taking help of self-help groups to spread awareness among common people about prohibition of child marriages by the law. So far, a total of 73 child marriages were stopped by Rachakonda SHE Teams.
A total of 46 eve teasers were rounded up the by Rachakonda SHE teams in decoy operations, acting on complaints received through WhatsApp/SMUC from different areas of Rachakonda. They are keeping tabs on girls safety at different hotspots like Metro train, junctions, bus stops, colleges etc.
All are booked under petty cases/FIRs and counseled by professional counselors of Bhumika Women's Collective in the presence of their family members. Minors will also be counseled by Chief Consultant Psychologist.
