The state government has failed to follow the instructions of the Central government, not adhering to ICMR norms and disobeying the court orders, he said accusing the government of mishandling the COVID-19 situation.

Mentioning the deaths of journalist Manoj and the patient who died in chest hospital in the letter, Reddy alleged that patients complained of poor services in the government hospitals. The Congress leader said that there is a lack of transparency in the equipment and medicines provided and demanded an enquiry on the donations of CM relief funds made through cheque.

"The state is also conducted low COVID-19 tests compared to other metros in the state. Even the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh government has conducted 6 lakhs tests so far while Telangana conducted 70,000 until now. Telangana tops in the country with the highest positivity rate of 27 per cent followed by 22 per cent in Maharashtra," he wrote.

He further said that the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences set up by the government is a 'namesake' hospital. Reddy also alleged that there were also delays in the test results which ensued to several complications in the patients resulting in their death.
