Reveals how a PhD scholar lost Rs 30 lakh after he received the call

Hyderabad: The TSRTC MD Sajjanar made several key suggestions in the context of cyber criminals committing frauds by making phone calls in disguise of police saying that drug parcels have arrived. He warned not to respond to any phone calls or IVR calls claiming that drug parcels have arrived. Sajjanar suggested to report to cybercrime helpline 1930 if you are the victim of such scams. Sajjanar expressed regret that many victims have expressed their feelings that they have been cheated, and that is why it is sad that even highly educated people who should be vigilant about such incidents are being cheated.

In this manner, Sajjanar revealed that PhD scholar of IIT Hyderabad was robbed of Rs 30 lakh after he answered the phone calls.

Sajjanar explained that the scholar was made to believe that there was a threat to the family's life by terrorist sleeper cells, and they kept him from leaving the house for 6 days on the pretend of house arrest. He warned that cyber criminals are making calls in the name of police and threatening to do drugs and bank transactions with terrorists and extorting crores of rupees.
