Warangal: Four students sustained grievous injuries after they were attacked by a stray dog at Janmabhoomi Junction in Laxminagar colony of the city on Thursday. The incident occurred when the children were on their way to school.

The timely intervention of passersby saved the boys. They chased the dog and killed it. The children were rushed to the MGM hospital for treatment.

"Despite repeated appeals, the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) has turned a blind eye to the stray dog menace. As a result, it has become a tough task for the children to walk through the streets," Ch Maheshwar, a localalleged.

He said that the locals have urged the sanitary inspector concerned to take note of the canine menace. But he did not respond, answering rudely, the locals alleged.
