Patancheru: The Sangareddy District Second Class Magistrate Prabhakar on Monday convicted and sentenced nine persons, caught by local traffic police during drunken drive, to imprisonment varying from 12 to 20 days.

According to Traffic CI Venu Kumar, the Magistrate imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 each. He said in a press release that among the nine was a temporary RTC driver, who was caught following complaints of passengers.

While four persons were jailed for 20 days, besides being fined, three were sent to 10 days' imprisonment. He said one was sentenced to 12 days and fined Rs.2,000, while another was asked to remit penalty of Rs.2,000.
