Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh defeated his nearest Congress rival P Saratchandra Singh in Heingang, even the ruling BJP won five seats and Nitish Kumar's JD (U) bagged three constituencies, as per latest ECI data. Congress and National People's Party (NPP) won two seats each. An Independent candidate has also secured victory. (PTI)

According to projections, the National People's Party led by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has won one seat and is leading in nine others. The BJP meanwhile is projected to have won six seats, and is currently maintaining a lead in 23 other seats.

The Election Commission has declared the results for the Tipaimukh constituency. Janata Dal (United) leader Ngursanglur Sanate won by a margin of 1249 over BJP's Chalton Lien Amo. The BJP meanwhile is leading in 29 seats.

Viewing the current status of COVID-19 in the five polled states, the Election Commission has decided to relax the guidelines on victory marches during and after the counting and has withdrawn the blanket ban on victory processions. This relaxation is however subject to existing instructions of SDMA and preventive measures, imposed by concerned district authorities.
