Danger dangles from above for road users

Pragathi Nagar: An electric wire in Pragathi Nagar has been hanging with the support of a tree from the past few days. It may lead to a dangerous incident for the commuters on the road.

J Aparna, a 38-year-old resident, said, "This electric wire has been hanging from quite a few days here. The wire was kept on the tree, so that the chances of it causing any incidents are low. But, one cannot say if it is still safe or not.

A strong breeze is enough to get the wire back to the position, as it was hanging on the road. We have informed the authorities concerned about it, but we have no idea when the action will take place."

"During evenings, children play here. It can be dangerous for them as well as to the commuters in this area. There are times when the streetlights stopped working. By any chance if someone comes in contact with the wire it will be dangerous to their lives.

In a day or two, the monsoon will start, which will make the issue more dangerous. I hope that the authorities concerned a takes an action as soon as possible," said Swathi R, another resident of the area.
