8 quintals of PDS rice seized

 Kakinada : The  East Godavari Civil Supplies  team headed by assistant  supply officerP Suresh seized eight quintals of PDS rice  on Monday when the rice was transported in Pithapuram,  about  20 kilometers from district  headquarters, Kakinada.

The officials, acting on a tip off, laid a trap and seized the stocks being transported on two-wheelers. The stocks were shifted to nearby Civil Supplies godowns.

A case under Civil Supplies Act was booked against four persons involved in the unauthorized transport of PDS rice from Pithapuram to various destinations.
