Pulse polio second phase today

Hyderabad: Medical and Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy has called upon officials to make the second phase of the Pulse Polio immunisation programme to be held in Telangana on Sunday benefiting 36,55,204 children below the age of five years a success. 

The Minister will launch the second phase UCHC in Afzalsagar next to Mehdipatnam. In a release on Saturday, he said that 95,500 personnel were drafted to administer the polio drops at 22,768 immunisation centres.

In fact, 737 transit centres have been put in place to administer drops to children travelling along with their parents. Further, 787 mobile teams, 2,280 route supervisors, 8711 ANMs, 27,045 ASHA workers, 32,082 anganwadi workers are roped into service. 

He said that the first phase of the programme held on January 28 was successful. He appealed to media to give wide publicity to the programme.
