Visakhapatnam: South Zone Inter University Women Tennis Tournament-2019 was inaugurated by noted Indian Tennis player and Arjuna Awardee Saketh Myneni here on Thursday at GITAM Deemed to be University campus.
Nearly 200 players from 45 universities are taking part in the tournament. Association of Indian Universities (AIU) Sports Board is organising the tournament on knock-out-basis following the latest International Tennis Federation (ITF) rules.
GITAM Vice-Chancellor K Sivaramakrishna, Registrar K V GD Balaji, joint secretary M Bharadwaj and tournament organising committee secretary K Ramakrishna Rao participated in the event.
