Amaravati: The State government has extended the benefit of Automatic Advancement Scheme (AAS) to eligible Swarna Gramam and Swarna Ward functionaries appointed through 2019 and 2020 recruitment notifications.
The decision will benefit functionaries, who have completed six years of qualifying service in the same post or cadre. They will be eligible for Special Grade Post Scale, subject to fulfilment of all conditions prescribed under 11th Pay Revision Commission for the AAS.
The government has established 15,004 Swarna Gramams and Swarna Wards across the State as the frontline of administration for delivering citizen-centric services and welfare schemes at people’s doorsteps. Functionaries of various line departments have been positioned in these offices to ensure effective delivery of services and implementation of government programmes. The government had earlier declared the probation of eligible Swarna Gramam and Swarna Ward functionaries appointed in the 2019 and 2020 recruitment batches. They were initially paid a consolidated salary of Rs 15,000 per month during their two-year probation period, after which regular pay scales were made applicable from July 1, 2022, and May 1, 2023, respectively.
Under the AAS, employees who remain in the same post due to lack of promotional opportunities are entitled to career advancement at prescribed intervals. The scheme provides the Special Grade Post Scale after six years of qualifying service in the same post, subject to eligibility conditions. The government directed the concerned line departments, Heads of Departments and competent authorities to take necessary action to sanction the Special Grade Post Scale to eligible functionaries.
