CM Chandrababu sets 100% literacy target by 2027 with 'Akshara Andhra' program

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said Guntur got the second position at the national level in 'Swachh Vayu Survekshan'(Clean Air Survey). He said wards in Guntur and Vijayawada were conferred with awards as 'National Clean Air Cities'. The District Collectors conference was held for two days at the Velagapudi Secretariat. The Chief Minister Chandrababu talked about various issues related to municipal administration, education, health, and skill development at the conference on Friday. He said that Andhra Pradesh bagged five awards at the national level this year with a cash prize of ₹1.05 crore. He also appreciated the good performance of cities like Guntur, Eluru, Vizianagaram, Vijayawada, Nellore, Srikakulam and Chittoor. He said that it is necessary to identify the skills required by the youth.

CM Chandrababu suggested that industries could collaborate with ITIs and polytechnic colleges to create awareness about the skills required. He said that skill development of the youth is a continuing process. He directed officials to take the 'PM SETU' programme to other places from Vishakhapatnam, which will provide more skill development opportunities to the youth. He suggested exploring the possibility of using CSR funds from industries for this skill development. He directed to prepare an action plan to ensure that the skilled youth in the state get jobs in the industries that are coming up in Andhra Pradesh.

Moreover, he issued guidelines to organize job fairs at the constituency level. Guidelines were issued to create awareness about government job vacancies. It was mentioned that 4.98 lakh youths have registered in the skills portal so far.

CM Chandrababu directed that awareness regarding skill development be created about it. He said that it is important to upgrade the skills of local youth so that they can get jobs. He said that the youth in Andhra Pradesh are looking forward to job opportunities coming up with the industries. He set a target of achieving 100% literacy by 2027 with the 'Akshara Andhra' program and envisioned a fully literate and educated state. He directed to equip the students with the skills required in Artificial Intelligence. In addition, he ordered a safety audit of school buildings and directed officials to take steps for their safety. He said that 'Sanjeevani'programme is taking to the grassroots level once a month to spread awareness about healthcare and wellness, reiterating that public health is a priority. CM Chandrababu directed to leverage technology to provide quality medical services.
