Eluru: Deputy Transport commissioner M Purendra has suggested the private bus operators to maintain hygiene and take steps to check the spread of Coronavirus, which has become a menace and a pandemic all over the world. He said maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene in the buses was very important to check the spread of corona virus.

In a press release here on Wednesday, the DTC has suggested the private bus operators to wash the curtains, seats, bed sheets regularly and the staff must wash their hands frequently.

He asked the operators to keep sanitisors in the buses so that the passengers can wash their hands immediately after boarding the buses Purendra suggested that the buses must maintain the record of all long distance travelers and take their name, age, addresses, destination places and other information so that it will be useful to track the passengers infected with the Corona virus.

He said the transport department would book cases on the buses if the staff, the driver and conduct do not collect the details of the passengers and display in the buses. He asked the bus operators and bus running staff to identify the suspected Corona infected persons and inform to the district administration, police or transport department and it will help them to take into custody.



On the other hand, transport department staff are conducting awareness to the autodrivers in Eluru and distributing sanitizers to wash their hands. Transport department officials, motor vehicle inspectors and others are meeting the trade union leaders, auto drivers union leaders and suggesting to be very careful on Corona virus and consult the doctor immediately if they have symptoms of Corona like fever, dry cough, breathing problems etc.

They are distributing the pamphlets and creating awareness to inform to the police or other departments if they notice persons infected with Corona symptoms.
