Discover how Vishnu Institute of Technology in Bhimavaram launched the IBM Qiskit Fall Fest 2026, offering students hands-on training in quantum computing and programming.

Bhimavaram: Dr Bhardwaj Mummaneni, Quantum Engagement Lead, IBM, inaugurated the IBM Qiskit Fall Fest 2026 programme at Vishnu Institute of Technology (Autonomous), Bhimavaram, on Thursday.
The three-day programme, being organised from Thursday, aims to provide students with hands-on exposure to IBM Quantum and Qiskit and encourage them to explore opportunities in quantum computing, research and innovation.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Dr Mummaneni highlighted the growing importance of quantum computing and briefed students on various initiatives being undertaken by IBM in quantum computing, education and innovation.
Dr Mangam Venu, Principal of the college, said the programme was designed to familiarise students with emerging technologies and provide them with practical learning opportunities in the rapidly developing field of quantum computing. The organisers, Dr Sridevi, Prof Srilakshmi, Dr R Srinivasa Raju and G Harsha, explained the objectives and activities planned as part of the Qiskit Fall Fest.
During the three-day event, students will participate in sessions and practical activities covering the fundamentals of quantum computing, Qiskit programming, quantum circuits and gates, entanglement, quantum communication, quantum machine learning and optimisation.
The inaugural programme was attended by the Principal, Vice-Principal and heads of various departments, deans, faculty members and students.
