In continuation of the tensed atmosphere after the elections in Markapuram, a country-made bomb is exploded beside the Magunta Subbarami Reddy park, just a few meters from the houses of YSRCP MLA candidate Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy and Janasena MLA candidate Immadi Kasinath and other political leaders’ houses.

Markapuram: In continuation of the tensed atmosphere after the elections in Markapuram, a country-made bomb is exploded beside the Magunta Subbarami Reddy park, just a few meters from the houses of YSRCP MLA candidate Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy and Janasena MLA candidate Immadi Kasinath and other political leaders' houses. A man, who works as a driver in the Panchayat Raj department is injured in the incident.

According to the locals, they heard the sound of a heavy explosion at around 7.30 pm on Sunday and found that smoke emanating from the vacant land beside the Magunta Subbarami Reddy Park, near the water tank. They said that they saw a man in a passenger auto crossing the Markapuram on Sunday was injured and shifted him to Kandula Obulreddy hospital immediately.

DSP G Nageswara Reddy, CI N Sridhar Reddy, SI Ramanjaneyulu reached the spot and blocked the vacant site. The houses are Santhanuthalapadu sitting MLA Adimulapu Suresh, former Tarlubadu MPP and brother-in-law of MLA Janke Venkata Reddy located near the explosion site.

Locals suspect that the bomb was exploded due to the scorching heat on the day and there would be more bombs in the area, allegedly stored by YSRCP MLA candidate Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy family. The injured was identified as Shaik Khasim Peera, a driver in Panchayat Raj engineering department and said that he fell unconscious after he suffered injuries at legs.

It is to be noted that Kondepalli in Markapuram mandal is the native village of Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy and the police are continuing picket in that village to keep the peace after the polling was completed as the YSRCP supporters rounded the houses of TDP polling agents and attacked them due to an argument during polling.
