Pejawar Math seers offer special prayers at Srisailam temple

Srisailam: Pejawar Math head pontiff Sri Sri Sri Vidyadheesha Teertha Swamiji and his successor, Sri Sri Sri Vidyarajeshwara Teertha Swamiji, offered prayers to Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy at the famous Srisailam temple. The pontiffs belong to the Palimaru Math, one of the Ashta Maths of the Dvaita tradition located in Udupi, Karnataka.

Upon arriving in the morning, the seers were accorded a traditional welcome at the temple’s Rajagopuram. Srisailam Temple Trust Board chairman Potugunta Ramesh Naidu, Executive Officer M Srinivasa Rao, priests, and Vedic scholars received them in accordance with traditions. The pontiffs then entered the sanctum to offer special prayers.

As part of their visit, the seers performed abhishekam to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and kumkumarchana to Goddess Bhramaramba Devi with traditional religious fervour.

Afterward, Vedic scholars performed Veda Swasti at the Ashirvachana Mandapam on the Goddess Bhramaramba temple premises. On behalf of the Devasthanam, the pontiffs were presented with traditional ceremonial robes and photos of the presiding deities as a mark of respect.

The seers concluded their visit by blessing the temple officials, priests, and devotees present.
