Pithapuram: The Pithapuram branch of Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) celebrated its golden jubilee on Thursday, marking 50 years of banking service to the people of Pithapuram and surrounding areas.
The celebrations were attended by customers, retired employees and present staff of the branch. On this occasion, employees and staff members paid tributes to Indian Overseas Bank’s founder chairman M Ct M Chidambaram Chettyar. Chief Manager Gullipalli Ravikumar thanked customers for their continued trust and support over the past five decades.
Ravikumar said the branch had witnessed major changes in the banking sector during its journey, moving from traditional banking practices to modern technology-enabled services.
He said IOB had been focusing on customer-oriented services, digital banking and financial inclusion while supporting the economic needs of individuals, businesspeople, farmers and other sections of society.
Ravikumar also acknowledged the contribution of employees in serving customers and the local community. Around 10 high net-worth customers and 14 retired IOB employees were felicitated on the occasion.
