Police in Prakasam district are investigating alleged sexual abuse involving two school girls from a BC girls’ hostel in Jarugumalli.

Police intensifies probe in hostel girls assault case in Prakasam district
Police have registered a case against the accused who is retired DRDA employee, who has been taken into custody. The girls’ statements have been recorded at Ongole Disha Police Station, and one girl is undergoing medical examinations at RIMS.
According to information given during the inquiry, hostel cook allegedly sent the girls to retired DRDO. However, one girl escaped and contacted relatives, bringing the incident to light.
The BC Welfare Department and police are also examining how the girls travelled from the hostel to Ongole. The warden has received a show-cause notice, while the hostel cook has been suspended.
Earlier, BC welfare minister S. Savitha called for action. She directed the Prakasam district collector and BC welfare officials to take action on the incident.
