Rajamahendravaram: MP Margani Bharat Ram said that the cultural capital of the State will become sports hub shortly and steps were initiated in this regard.
Inaugurating four jerseys of RPL-2020 season at Transco guest house here on Tuesday, he said an international stadium will also come up in the city. Minister for municipal administration Botcha Satyanarayana will inaugurate Table Tennis court in few days.
Plans were afoot to bring past glory to the city in sports and the government was also given its nod in this regard, he added. The city will also be developed as tourism hub and shortly gets heritage tag, the MP averred. Many development works were under progress in the city and in the first phase such as construction of dividers, laying of roads and central lighting works etc will be completed.
RPL organisers Ajjarapu Vasu, Gubbala Rambabu and RSP Rao, Pantham Kondala Rao and others were present.
