Bengaluru: Gopika, the survivor of the Rapthadu assault case, has shown signs of recovery, with doctors removing her ventilator support following surgery at Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru, State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced.

According to the minister, Gopika has started responding to doctors and is able to speak a few words at a time when prompted.

Doctors are gradually reducing high-flow oxygen support in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and her health condition is reported to be stable.

The girl is also tolerating nutrition administered through a nasal feeding tube.

As part of her ongoing treatment: She has received a blood transfusion due to anaemia. Physiotherapy is being provided to improve limb movements and support chest exercises. Antibiotics, pain-relief medication and other supportive treatments are continuing. The medical team is closely monitoring her health condition and progress.

Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said doctors are continuously assessing Gopika’s recovery and providing the necessary medical care.
