Vizianagaram: MVGR Engineering College, Women Empowerment Cell inaugurated a Self-defence Training Programme for girl students here on Thursday. SP B Raja Kumari was the chief guest to the event. Self-defence training program to girl students was inaugurated by the chief guest which includes the launch of taekwondo training for girl students.

Raja Kumari said that students should be taken care of themselves and also explained about the policies of government's integrated security facilities, especially about dialing emergency number 100 which is very important for seeking immediate help from police department.

She also briefed the police department was always working to protect women and cybercrimes through 'Mahila Mitra' and 'Cyber Mitra' and every girl student should take care from cybercrimes while they are using the smart phones.

She said that women need financial independence so that they can be mentally fit and emphasised that the difference between good touch and bad touch should be taught to girl students from an early age.

Anyone who harasses women then it is not a women's fault, the victims must take the help from police department, then only we can prevent such attacks on them, she said and advised the women to get awareness on law and society so that they will definitely create their better future.
