World Bank-ADB team gives Amaravati works a thumbs-up

Amaravati: A three-day visit by representatives of the World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB) to Amaravati concluded on Friday as part of the fourth joint implementation support mission.

On the third and final day of the mission, the World Bank and ADB delegation held meetings with officials of the APCRDA, ADCL and AGICL at the APCRDA project office in Rayapudi and reviewed the progress of various development works.

During the meetings, officials and technical teams from different departments briefed the bank representatives on the works being implemented, progress achieved, implementation plans and the measures being taken in their respective areas. They also explained the future course of action and submitted reports on key issues and the progress of projects under their jurisdiction. The World Bank and ADB representatives discussed the various issues with the officials concerned, reviewed the implementation progress and expressed satisfaction with the progress made.

During the three-day mission, officials gave detailed presentations on infrastructure development, housing, public transport, flood management, environmental protection, investments and mobilisation of financial resources in Amaravati.

APCRDA officials informed the delegation that the progress of development works across various sectors was being reviewed regularly and necessary measures were being taken to ensure timely implementation.

After the meetings, the World Bank and ADB delegation met municipal administration and urban development principal secretary S Suresh Kumar at the APCRDA office. ADCL CMD D Lakshmi Parthasarathi, APCRDA commissioner V Vijaya Ramaraju, additional commissioners G Surya Sai Praveen Chand and T Rahul Kumar Reddy and Abhishek Kumar participated in the meeting and discussed various issues related to Amaravati’s development.
