Tesla has revealed its production version of its second generation Roadster during an event near Waco, Texas; it is almost 9 years after its debut showed the car. The car is built using SpacX engineering and it thrusters to leap over other vehicles.

Elon Musk has called the above car as “The best of the last of the human-driven cars”. The production has been for 2028, after the launch has been delayed repeatedly in the year 2020-2024.

In the live demo, one can Roaster using high powered fans as well as thrusters to drive up an inverted ramp, spin around and land on the pavement. It also lifted itself over a Cybercab, a Cybertruck, a Tesla Serpi, a Model Y, and Model 3 while moving. Tesla revealed it accelerating from 0 to 60 mph, about 97 km/hr in mere one second.

Tesla’s engineering Vice Preseident Lars Maravy stated that Roadster uses 10 thrusts connected to 600 litres of compressed air to lift and spin the car in midair. The air tank can be recharged. Tesla stated every usable void in the car is packed with carbon fibre overwrapped pressure vessels and described the design as inspired by the SR-71 reconnaissance aircraft and the F-35 fighter jet.

Roadster comes in three trims, Performance is “ road ready1’ with two seats and active aerodynamics thrust is “ race ready” with two seats and rear cold gas thrusters for sub-one second 0-60 mph runs. Rocket is “ air ready” seats one and has 10 thrusters around the car. All three claim 300 miles of the range, about 483 km, and speeds above 230 mph, about 370 km/h.
