Hyderabad drives MF AUM growth among Telugu states

Hyderabad: The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) in its recent report highlighted the growing mutual fund participation in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with the two neighbouring states together accounting for Rs2.95 lakh crore in mutual fund assets. The data also points to growing adoption of SIPs and a greater emphasis on disciplined, long-term investing.
Telangana’s mutual fund AUM stood at Rs2,12,856 crore as of July 2026, registering a 19 per centrise over July 2025. The state ranks 8th among all States and Union Territories and accounts for approximately 2.5 per cent of India’s total mutual fund assets. Its investor base has also expanded, with 82.24 lakh folios, representing about 2.9 per cent of the country’s total folios.
Within Telangana, Hyderabad remains the largest mutual fund centre, with an AUM of Rs1,84,261 crore, accounting for 87 per cent of the state’s total. Hyderabad’s AUM has grown 18 per cent over July 2025. The city ranks 8th among India’s top 30 cities and contributes 2.10 per cent of the country’s mutual fund assets. Its 54.44 lakh folios account for 66.2 per cent of Telangana’s total folios.
