The shooting of the movie got completed on 13 December. Kangana said goodbye to the Production team by writing some emotional lines on twitter. "I was completely immersed in the character. I was involved too much in that character. But all the moments have to come to an end. It's time to say goodbye as the shooting has come to an end. It is a lifetime opportunity to get a chance to enact the role of a wonderful character," thus tweeted Kangana Ranaut.

The actress thanked director K A Vijay, Shailesh R Singh, and others for giving her this opportunity. Kangana has enacted the role of late actress turned politician Jayalalithaa in the biopic based on the PuratchiThalaivi.

Arvind Swamy is seen in the role of MGR. We can see Poorna in the role of Jaya's aide Shashikala, Prakash Raj playing DMK founder M Karunanidhi, and Jishu Sen Gupta as Shoban Babu. This is the second South Indian movie in which Kangana has worked.

Earlier, she had acted in a Telugu movie called 'Ek Niranjan' which starred Telugu Rebel Star Prabhas. Now, Kangana has in her hand movies like "Aparajith Ayodhya", "Dhakad", 'Thejas", and "Imli".

Recently the Bollywood actress had stated that she is the prime target for political leaders of this country. She has also drawn the wrath of farmers for some of her comments. A Netizen had stated "Some people have suddenly developed love for farmers, and they have united against Kangana." However, Kangana who reacted to the tweet replied with some satirical comments. "What are you saying? Now, I am the biggest target of the country. If you target me you will be the media's favourite. Movie mafias will offer you characters to act in movies. You will be given awards. You will get everything including a ticket from Shiv Sena to contest in the elections," thus had stated Kangana who usually keeps making news for her controversial comments and bold statements.
