Naresh Vijay Krishna highlights ‘Crazy Kalyanam’ Navarasa scene
‘Crazy Kalyanam’, starring ‘Navarasaraya’ Dr. Naresh Vijay Krishna, Anupama Parameswaran, Tharun Bhascker and Akhil Uddemari of ‘Raju Weds Rambai’ fame, is an upcoming family entertainer directed by Badrappa Gajula. Produced by Boosam Jagan Mohan Reddy under the Arrow Cinemas banner, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, coinciding with the Dasara festival.
In a recent interview, Dr. Naresh Vijay Krishna spoke about the film’s emotional depth, entertaining narrative and his special Navarasa sequence.
According to the actor, family entertainers are finding favour with audiences, who are looking for genuine stories that bring families together. He believes ‘Crazy Kalyanam’ will appeal to viewers through its combination of humour, emotions and relatable characters.
The story revolves around a middle-class family in a village and explores the emotional struggles between parents and children. Naresh described the four principal characters, played by himself, Tharun Bhascker, Anupama Parameswaran and Akhil Uddemari, as the film’s four pillars. He praised the casting and said each character contributes significantly to the narrative.
Comparing director Badrappa Gajula’s storytelling approach to that of K. Viswanath, Naresh said the filmmaker presents stories in a fresh way while retaining their cultural roots and emotional authenticity. He also praised Tharun Bhascker’s character, Balraju, and appreciated the performances of Anupama and Akhil.
One of the film’s major highlights is a six-minute sequence in which Naresh portrays all nine Navarasas through interactions with nine characters in a setting involving around 350 characters. The actor revealed that he initially felt nervous about performing the challenging sequence but eventually completed it in a single take. He added that the scene would be a major attraction.
Naresh also praised producer Jagan Mohan Reddy’s commitment to the project and expressed confidence in the film’s success. He emphasised that the emotional bond between a father and daughter would resonate with audiences. With its mix of family sentiment, comedy and drama, ‘Crazy Kalyanam’ aims to offer audiences an entertaining theatrical experience this Dasara.
