Rashmika Mandanna Is Confirmed To Play The Role Of MS Subbulakshmi

Tollywood’s ace actress Rashmika Mandanna is currently enjoying the peak stage of her career. After Allu Arjun’s Pushpa series turned into a massive blockbuster, she started receiving multiple offers from Bollywood and Kollywood too. Of late, she is busy with female-oriented movie Mysaa shooting. She also wrapped up her part in Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabali movie which is scheduled to hit the theatres on 16th October, 2026.

As of now, she also bagged another prestigious project and is all set to essay the role of legendary singer MS Subbulakshmi in her biopic. The makers confirmed the news through an official post and also unveiled the launch date of this most-awaited movie.

This post reads, “A LEGACY begins with an unforgettable celebration Witness the grand launch of #MS - A Legacy On Screen, celebrating Bharat Ratna #MSSubbulakshmi Amma's 110th Birth Anniversary with Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan garu as Chief Guest Starring @iamRashmika Directed by @gowtam19 Music by @anirudhofficial”.

Definitely, this one will be a larger-than-life role for Rashmika, as she is all set to step into the shoes of MS Subbulakshmi who mesmerized generations of music lovers with her soulful voice. This most-awaited biopic will be launched tomorrow i.e on 16th September which marks the 110th birth anniversary of MS Subbulakshmi. Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan will grace this event as the special guest while the launch event will also witness a live performance by ‘The Indian Choral Ensemble’.

MS – A Legacy On Screen will be helmed by ace filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri and bankrolled by Allu Aravind, Rockline Venkatesh and Bunny Vasu under the Geetha Arts and Rockline Entertainment banner. Latest music sensation Anirudh Ravichandar will score the tunes for this biopic. Further details regarding the cast and crew will be unveiled tomorrow during the launch event.
