Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni, known for backing content-driven films, is presenting ‘Summer Holidays’ under Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainments. Directed by Srikar Nayan, the film takes audiences on a nostalgic journey through childhood memories and summer vacations. Master Rohan, Master Arun and Baby Khushi play the lead roles. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 6.
In an interview, director Srikar Nayan discusses his filmmaking journey, the inspiration behind the story, working with children and his expectations.
Hailing from Visakhapatnam, Srikar developed an interest in filmmaking during his college days while making short films. After completing his education, he moved to Hyderabad and worked in the direction department for films such as ‘Thellavarithe Guruvaram’.
“Through Madhura Sreedhar Reddy garu, I met Dheeraj Mogilineni and narrated a thriller story to him. He liked it but suggested that gaining some filmmaking experience would help. Later, he liked the story of ‘Summer Holidays’ and gave me the opportunity. Once he came on board, everything moved quickly, from finalising the cast and technicians to completing the preparations,” says Srikar. Initially titled ‘Summer Friend’, the film revolves around two children from different backgrounds who become friends during their summer holidays. “Most of us have wonderful memories of visiting our grandparents’ villages during summer vacations. Playing cricket, eating palm fruit, listening to our grandmothers’ stories and making new friends are experiences we can all relate to. These memories inspired the story. However, the incidents in the film are not directly based on my personal life,” he explains. “This is not a children’s film, but a film for adults featuring children.
