Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lashed out at the Congress as well as the other INDIA bloc parties for being hell-bent on stopping the SIR process and mocked that purpose of the Rahul Gandhi-led rally in the national capital on Sunday was not ‘Vote Bachao” (Save the vote) but “Ghuspetiya Bachao” (protect infiltrators) from Bangladesh in various part of the country.

On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in the to lead the city leg of the BJP's nationwide padayatras themed “Lok Tantra Bachao Arajakta Hatao” (Save Democracy, Eradicate Anarchy). On his arrival, Shah started off with prayers at the Bhagyalakshmi temple near Charminar. The march is part of the BJP's campaign, launched to counter the opposition Congress-led INDIA bloc's allegations against the party, including conspiracy to vitiate Election Commission’s SIR process, since dubbed “vote chori”.

Shah led a mammoth rally from the Babu Jagjivan Ram statue to Mohamzahi Market Crossroads and addressed a gathering there. He dismissed as lies the claims of the Congress and Rahul Gandhi that 13 crore votes had been deleted. For, Shah explained, 6.15 crore of them had shifted to other places; nearly three crore were dead, and one crore votes were duplicate entries. "Now comes what causes stomachache for Rahul Gandhi. Three crore votes are those who do not exist. They are Bangladeshi infiltrators. They are not present. These three crore people are infiltrators. Tell me, who are these three crore people? Should they be removed or not? Rahulji says don't remove," Shah said, adding, "we will remove each and every infiltrator from the electoral rolls to ensure only Indian citizens will be in the voters' rolls.”

Shah said the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha and the INDIA bloc members were upset, as they (infiltrators) have been used as vote banks.

Dismissing the allegations of ‘Vote Chori' narrative of the Opposition as “baseless”, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi won in the 2014 General Elections and thrice thereafter, and asked, “Did SIR happen then?” Further, he observed that Modi won with the support of people.

He said that Rahul Gandhi will never become the Prime Minister of the country as he can’t compete with the pace of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding: “Rahul will become the Prime Minister only in a mock parliament”. Giving details of how “slowly, slowly and slowly…Congress has vanished from power in several states across the country, he said, the Congress party is on a ventilator. The Union Minister criticised the Congress party and challenged Rahul Gandhi over parliamentary proceedings, saying the BJP is ready to convene a special session of Parliament for a full discussion. Shah said: “ He (Rahul) holds the Constitution in hand, but doesn’t respect the Constitution. Rahul ji, you don’t allow Parliament to run. Be it EVMs, SIR, infiltrators, I challenge you from Hyderabad. We are ready to convene a special session of Parliament. Come for debate.” The Union Home Minister wondered how the Congress formed governments in states, including Telangana, if the EVMs were bad.

Shah claimed the Congress relies on disorder because Modi’s government would dismantle their arguments in a functional parliament. The Union Minister asked, “ Why is Congress not coming to discuss this in Parliament? He questioned the Congress about Congress and non-BJP governments forming in Keralam, Tamil Nadu, and Himachal Pradesh, “exposing the hollowness and propaganda of the Congress”.

Shah said that 10 years of Congress rule was riddled with corruption of about Rs 12 lakh crore. While there is not a single stain of corruption in Modi’s administration, Congress-ruled states face corruption charges and have failed to implement the promises made to the people. Listing out the achievements of PM Modi’s government like abrogation of Article 370, construction of Ram Mandir, Triple Talaq, surgical strikes, and ‘Operation Sindoor’, he highlighted the welfare scheme. The Union Home Minister vowed to make India drug-free before December 31, 2029.
