Megastar Chiranjeevi Heaps Praises On Captain Smit Machchhar’s Bravery

It is well known that Captain Smit Machchar saved 174 passengers and 8 crew lives although he was stabbed and brutally beaten by the co-pilot. His finally opened the cockpit door so that the passengers and the crew members could enter the cockpit to overpower the attacker. Later the flight was diverted to Saudi Arabia by one of the other pilots on board. Thus, along with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, PM Modi and US President Trump, most of the netizens and celebs are heaping praises on Smit’s bravery.

Even Tollywood’s ace actor Megastar Chiranjeevi and Anupam Kher also commended Smit’s bravery through Twitter. Take a look!

His post reads, “FACE OF A HERO! Courage and heroism have a face now. And that face belongs to Captain Smit Machchhar. Despite being seriously injured himself, he found the strength to fight back and help save almost 180 lives in mid-air. What an extraordinary human being!

Even if he were not an Indian, my admiration and applause would have been just as heartfelt. But knowing he is one of our own makes my pride double, triple! As a nervous flyer, I also keep thinking about the people inside that aircraft. What must they have felt as the plane suddenly plunged thousands of feet? The fear, the helplessness, the uncertainty of those moments are difficult to imagine.

My salute also to the passengers and crew who stepped forward to help, the pilots who brought everyone safely to the ground, and the medical teams caring for Captain Machchhar. At a time when we hear so much about the worst in people, such courage reminds us of the best we are capable of. Even in terrible danger, a human being can find the strength to protect others. Captain Smit Machchhar, my salute to you, my friend. Lots and lots of love. May you recover soon and return to a world waiting to give you a hero’s welcome. You have made us proud. Jai Hind!”

Well, Gujarat government announced the Visisht Gujarat Garima Award to Smit and also commended his bravery. Of late, Smit also doled out that he was chanting Hanuman Chalisa in the difficult times and thought to save the passengers although he was severely wounded.
