It is well known that the upcoming Pongal festive season is packed with many high-anticipated movies. Along with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Kaka, even Prashant Varma’s Mahakali, Anil Ravipudi’s multi-starrer, Sharwanand’s George Krish and Sai Dharan Tej’s Sambharala Yeti Gattu, a few other movies are expected to join the festive race.

So, now the producers are eyeing on December, 2026 slots to avoid the Pongal competition. Already Shah Rukh Khan’s King, Balakrishna’s Dada, Nagarjuna’s King 100 locked their release dates in December. Although Prabhas’s Fauzi zeroed in 3rd December a couple of months ago, now, there are speculations doing rounds on social media that it might get postponed.

Well, Prabhas is now juggling between three projects: Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2 and Hanu Raghavapudi’s Fauzi. Among these three movies, Fauzi is scheduled to release in December and Spirit is expected to release in next March. But the speculations state that, Fauzi might take up Spirit’s release date due to delay in the shoot and post-production works. If Fauzi occupies Spirit release date, Spirit may have to move to the second half of 2027.

Although, the makers didn’t confirm it officially, the news has been already circulated among film circles. So, taking advantage of this vacant slot, the makers of Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma are all set to zero in this slot. Already they dropped a hint on social media yesterday and stated that a big surprise is awaiting for the netizens. If the speculations are to be believed, the Vrushakarma’s release date announcement might be unveiled in a couple of hours.

Well, with this latest addition, December has Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma, Shah Rukh Khan’s King, Vishwak Sen’s Legacy, Nagarjuna’s King 100 and Balakrishna’s Dada. So, if the postponement reports turn out to be true, Fauzi could miss an ideal holiday release window to conquer the box office.

But some of the fans respect the makers decision as Prabhas already faced a backlash for Maruti’s Raja Saab. The film drew criticism from a section of the audience over its apparent use of AI-generated shots and body-double sequences.

So, many fans believe the makers should prioritize quality over meeting a release deadline. Fauzi is being helmed by Sita Ramam fame Hanu Raghavapudi and is being bankrolled under the Mythri Movie Makers banner.
