Women farmers to take part in Natural Farming Farmers’ Conference on Sept 22

Visakhapatnam: Promoting natural farming would not only help farmers improve their economic prospects but also contribute to making healthy and safe food available to the public, emphasised BJP state president PVN Madhav.

Unveiling a poster for a state-level natural farming farmers’ conference to be held on September 22 on Beach Road in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, the BJP state president informed that the conference will be jointly organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Kisan Morcha and the Cow-based Natural Farming Farmers’ Mutual Cooperative Societies.

Stressing the need to significantly enhance women’s participation in natural farming, Madhav said the conference would provide women farmers and entrepreneurs opportunities to explore new avenues for economic growth, expand their business opportunities and benefit from emerging opportunities in the agricultural sector.

He emphasised the importance of encouraging sustainable agricultural practices that benefit both farming communities and society at large.

The conference is expected to bring together women farmers and women entrepreneurs from various places, providing them with a platform to showcase their achievements in natural farming and deliberate on the challenges they face.

A special round-table discussion will focus on marketing opportunities, value-added agricultural products, employment avenues and entrepreneurial opportunities available to women in the natural farming sector.

Later, as part of the eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, Madhav distributed clay Vinayaka idols and called upon people to give greater priority to environmental conservation and urged the public to adopt environmentally-responsible practices and contribute to the preservation of nature.
